Stay in Poipu and drive to Poipu beach you will see a unique with the lava rocks creating a barrier
to the ocean so the kids could swim. You will see turtles laying on the sand .
Great views, good bathrooms and there are
life guards!
Poipu beach has easy parking. Sand and water is very nice but it gets a
little rocky once you get out into the water. This beach is very good for
snorkeling. There's even a little tide pool area for the kiddies! Good signage
all around to show you where to avoid for rip currents and plenty of
lifeguards, and chickens roaming around to keep everything interesting. Keep an
eye on your food or the chickens will get it.
Poipu beach is the best beach for snorkeling, turtles and monk seals!
The wildlife is here: amazing sightings of Hawaiian green turtles and
Monk Seals. Snorkeling is the best on the island. Life Guards on duty. A
portion of the beach has a sandy bottom and is calmer than that part of the
beach where the snorkelers are. It is referred locally as baby beach. We used
full face snorkeling rentals. I found I had less water in my mouth and a clear
view. Chickens walking all around. In Poipu beach you will get a very enjoyable
experience.
